deconta donates 10 mobile shower systems for refugees from Ukraine

deconta GmbH hands over ten shower systems to the White Cross Civil Defense for an emergency shelter on the Ukrainian border. “Showers that were previously used in the areas of decontamination and personal protection can also help in the civilian sector,” says Christian Krolle, explaining the deconta management’s approach to refugee aid.
The pictures of the Ukrainian border and the refugee camps quickly led deconta to decide to help with shower systems from its own production and thus offer the refugees the possibility of using a warm shower. Together with Klaus Albert from the civil and disaster protection department at deconta, the management made the decision to donate ten personal locks with shower systems including hot water generators for an emergency shelter. “As a specialist for decontamination systems, we have various modular personal sluices for decontamination. Decontamination works through particularly intensive shower systems. These are designed as mobile systems and can thus also be used as normal showers in emergency shelters,” explains Klaus Albert.
Thomas Holzknecht from the Civil Defense White Cross in Bolzano (Italy), which operates an emergency shelter in cooperation with SAMARI-TAN INTERNATIONAL in Slovakia, informed us that there were not enough showers on site and that these systems were needed there. As quickly as possible, Klaus Albert assembled the deconta system of the ECO-Line type and corresponding hot water generators and organized a handover to the civil defense of the provincial rescue association White Cross from Bolzano (Italy). The shower systems were first transported to the logistics center of the Civil Defense Center, where the emergency personnel familiarized themselves with the installation and operation. Shortly, an aid transport with the shower systems will set out to set up the showers in an emergency shelter.
“We are happy and proud at the same time that we can bring three good things together,” Christian Krolle is pleased to say: “Our technology, the extraordinary commitment of our employees and the helpfulness of the White Cross. This is the only way social commitment can succeed for the benefit of people.”
