NRW Minister of the Interior visits deconta at the Police Days in Düsseldorf

8. September 2022

As a reliable innovation partner, deconta GmbH participated in the Düsseldorf Police Days with a product presentation.

The commitment was crowned by the visit of the NRW Minister of the Interior Herbert Reul with a delegation of high-ranking representatives from politics and business. Reul and his guests showed great interest in the practicable solutions for the protection of emergency forces in accidents, fire operations and other civil disasters. Among other things, the advantages of a mobile decontamination system were vividly explained. In particular, the scale model of a Polizei deco mobil C 5000 decontamination trailer generated enthusiasm among the delegation.  As the supreme supervisory authority, the Ministry of the Interior, and thus the Minister of the Interior, has direct official supervision over all police authorities in NRW and is therefore also largely responsible for their protection.

In everyday duty, personal protective equipment (PPE) and the equipment carried by the emergency forces are contaminated by a wide variety of hazardous substances, especially during fire investigation. “In fact, the risk of contamination with asbestos is much more frequent than one might think,” explains Klaus Albert, division manager for authorities and organizations with security tasks. “In order to prevent contamination carryover and, in particular, to prevent incorporation (absorption) of substances hazardous to health, the deco mobil has a multi-chamber system with a negative-pressure HEPA filter system, black and white separation and shower room for decontaminating the emergency forces. In this way, we can guarantee that the emergency workers complete each mission as safely and healthily as possible.”
