Schauenburg Education Trust officially opens Education Centre

The Schauenburg Education Trust hosted by Afrika Tikkun officially opened the Science, Engineering and Technology Education Centre in Diepsloot, Johannesburg.
The building that was officially opened at the Wings of Life community centre in Diepsloot, is a testa-ment to what is possible when partners, civil society and passionate young people come together. Youth aged 18-35 in the Career Development and Placement (CDP) programme will use this centre as a space for learning as they move closer to their goals. In a year, 440 Students to pass through the facility, separated in four sessions, as the capacity of the building includes 110 students at one time.
Afrika Tikkun extended its sincere appreciation to the Schauenburg Education Trust for its support to their CDP programme and drive to encourage more career pathways into Science Technology, Engi-neering and Mathematics (STEM) learning. Additionally, the Schauenburg Education Trust donated 60 laptops for the students.
“We thank you Schauenburg for contributing in such a meaningful way to Afrika Tikkun’s vision of youth economic empowerment in South Africa”, expressed Alef Meulenberg, CEO of the Afrika Tikkun.
Florian G. Schauenburg, founder of the Schauenburg Education Trust and CEO of the Schauenburg International Group expressed his delight with the project; “This is a great example of the successful work of the Foundation. We established the trust to empower and promote disadvantaged individuals and communities by providing educational opportunities like Wings of Life. We aim at providing a quality education for deserving individuals who can contribute positively to the future industrial growth and so-cio-economic transformation of South Africa.”
Lewis Mathieson, the Managing Director of Schauenburg Systems and a Trustee of the Schauenburg Education Trust said; “Afrika Tikkun has given us the opportunity to invest in a more tangible and sus-tainable ‘lighthouse project’ which will benefit the community for many years to come. We have been looking for such a project since the inception of the Education Trust in 2016 and we are very pleased to have found such a great project with Afrika Tikkun.”
